De Mattos proposes, guided by Paul Ricoeur’s work “Time and narration”, to think from an interdisciplinary perspective, the convergence between historical narration and literally narration. To analyze the delicate junction between both, he chooses some fundamental points:
1) The theme (as a primordial function in the narrative activity).
2) The articulation of the reading and writing, immersed in an only temporal process.
3) The conviction –says Mattos– that literature transcends the text, and that creates in the reader, processes of re-interpretation of the play and of its own world.
4) To recognize in the reader the role of co-creator, as an agent in the reconfiguration of the theme.
5) Proposes the idea that the symbolical mediator which operate in the gestation, writing and reading of the text, make impossible the postures of supposed ethic neutrality. Quoting Ricouer, in relation to a supposed neutrality of the ethic postures, he says:
“there is no action which does not provoke, no matter how small it be, the approval or disapproval, based in a measure of values which its poles, are goodness and badness.
