Abstract

Lead by the text of Georges Bataille, «Eroticism», the author establishes several connections between transference and said text, considering that it’s a predominantly erotic bond displayed in a paradoxical framework. Finally, some refl ections referred to the diffi culties implied in the analyst’s position regarding transference, since it involves the eroticism of the patient and his own, putting stress on one hand, on his «erotic vulnerability», and on the other his castration, the process of his own analysis. Th e analysis is a journey that presuposes an ethic, a renounce and a conquest, «the approval of life even in death», to echo the words of Bataille. Th e analyst will let go his position, in what would be the end of analysis, so that the patient is faced with the truth of his own desire, keeping up an erotic tension that is accepted as a tearing. Eroticism remains then as the source and the power of creativity, the tireless pursuit of answers to the riddles of life and death.
