The cracks in the stone; a reflection on the limits of discourse in the work of Marosa di Giorgio

Abstract

The paper provides a discussion of the literary work of the Uruguayan writer Marosa Di Giorgio Médicis from a psychoanalytic standpoint. The concept of Subject is considered through the intersection of different lines of analysis,
such as the literary study, the discourse on the unconscious and the philosophy of language. The paper carries out a critical study of the author’s  representational strategies in order to achieve a better understanding of the conditions that made her discourse possible. In this context, the concept of “anti-myth” is discussed as a means to grasp the aesthetic experience
expressed by the author’s poetic narrative. This experience is determined by the fragmentation of the characters, the loss of time and space bearings, the absence of an articulated causality, the absence of a transce ndental paradigm or an implicit system of values in the text or outside it. Some lines of reflection are formulated concerning the Marosiana poetic narrative, through a brief stud y on the current theoretical formulations as critical perspectives around the Subject of the enunciation on Psychoanalysis.
