Ningún acontecimiento dentro de los abundantes fenómenos de la vida humana resulta insignificante para el niño. En particular el comienzo y el fin de la vida, la entrada y salida de los individuos, son fuentes inagotables de sus “porqués” y de sus “dóndes”. Una vez que se da cuenta del eterno misterio de la vida, lo persigue como objetivo de toda investigación, tanto en el juego como en serio. Porque en la vida y en la muerte ve el amor y el odio, la crueldad y la compasión enlazadas. El niño pequeño que risueñamente aplasta un gusano con el pie y lo recoge cuidadosamente con sus dedos para reunir las partes que se mueven, se siente realmente triste cuando sus intentos resultan infructuosos.
