Abstract

In this theoretical-clinical paper, M. Viñar shows us an encounterdisencounter* with Jimena and her body; a body in movement ignored by its saying. This is the point of departure for a theoretical exercise around psychosis and the body. This is “a conjectural paper, which does not try to take the usual lime from hypothesis to explanation, but intends to cover the stretch between being utterly terrified in perplexity, and the construction of feasible hypotheses”. A hypothesis is placed between the limits of neurosis and
psychosis, denial and disavowal. The outcome of this “frustrated encounter-disencounter” takes M. Viñar to theoretical thoughts about the intimacy of the psychotic event, as well as a new focusing of technical considerations which refer to the irruption in the
field of analysis of the “deadly invasion of the mother”. Due to frustration and action when treatment is interrupted, the
“neurosurgical solution” comes up, silencing Jimana’s paraplegic body (just like her speech in analysis), pushed by others in a wheel chair. Mr. Viñar finishes as follows: “If I want to risk the conjectural construction which this text brings up, it is because it might allow me to invent another way of taking hold of the deadly mother, and trying a less lethal outcome with my next Jimena.
