Abstract

This work is based on the study of the analytic material of four female patients. Our time being limited we only discuss here the material concerning one of them. The hypotheses put forward are related to some concepts which were the subjectmatter of previous works. They are the following:
1) The cloaca constitutes the place of the body-alienation in women.
2) The cloaca-phantasy is precisely the confusion situated in the body. We consider that the material discussed here confirms those hypotheses. (The word “confirm” is used under reserves concerning the criteria of verification. Thoses reserves will be the subject-matter of another work). We conclude that is legitimate to maintain the following points:
1) The cloaca constitutes the place “par excellence” of the body alienation in the disturbances of the psychosexual development in women.
2) The vagina is the bastion of the “hypochondriac cyst” in feminine hysteria.
3) The hypochondriac object is not only a persecutory one, but a mixture of persecutory objects and loved ones.
