Fragments About Time, Mourning and Anguish; at the End of the Millennium
Keywords:

The present culture features lead the author to ask himself about the reciprocal effects between it and psychic functioning. The apocalyptic fantasies of end and the doctrine of millenarism meeting, the smashing of time notions by its acceleration, are questioned in relation with psychoanalytic concepts of “mourning” and “affliction”. The temporal marks as the end of the century millenium seem to create an anticipated effect which refers to mourning by idealized aspects of the ideals which inhabited the century, and to affliction vinculated to an end of time fantasy that would correspond to a decrease of the symbolic thickness of psychism. What is being raised, more than answers to the questions asked, is an evocative complexity of interrelations.
