In his contribution to “Jornadas de Historia y Psicoanálisis”, Juan Martín Posadas works on the specific relations to be found between different aspects of Uruguay’s contemporary history and its subject. Our attention is attracted to the side effects (both social and individual) of a life course submitted to a permanent lie. A parallelism is draw between this situation and what we read in soviet authors such as Solyenitzm, the russian (and communist) historian Afanasiev, and the chzecj dissidents (specially V. Havel). The main line of thought being: life under a systematic lie. Similar analysis is applied to the situation in Uruguay during our twelve years under
military rule.
