Migration and adolescence

In the context of a project working with migrant children and adolescents in vulnerable situations, which is starting to operate after the signing of an agreement between the Asociación Psicoanalítica del Uruguay (APU), the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), an attempt is being made to explore the impact of migration in general, and especially on adolescence. Moments of turbulence, transformations, changes and grief. For this purpose, and in a socioclinical approach, we share the material of a Venezuelan adolescent, where the wound of migration is present. We question ourselves about psychoanalysis as a valid tool working in community in a singularized listening and in conjunction with the social area, as a team, to make room for the migratory suffering and to transit through possible meanings that allow these people to inhabit their lives in a better way.
