Abstract

This paper was written in the virtual joint experience of the authors, of different nationalities, in the context of a device called group dreaming. We suggest reflecting on this device following the threads of the dream and the psyche. It is a psychoanalytic clinical device which has an intersubjective view of the dream, considers the group in its specific processes, employs the dream as a mediating object and promotes the group work focused on a task that can adapt to different contexts. During the Covid-19 pandemic,a team of Brazilian psychoanalysts from Sao Paulo, taking research on Social Dreaming as their starting point, adapted this model, creating the online intervention device, Group dreaming, so as to offer a space for support to people experiencing psychic suffering in this context of sanitary,
social, political and economic crisis. Conceived, at first, as a continent for
the intersubjective working through of traumatic experiences in a specific
historic and geographic context, we believe it consolidates as a clinical
resource that allows for a resonation with others in the present moment,
traversing histories that converge in the inter-discursive flow that weaves
the relational fabric.
