Abstract

La discusión psicoanalítica contemporánea se plantea interrogantes respecto al significado. ¿Es el significado construido (Viderman, 1970) o descubierto (Arlow, 1959) en el proceso psicoanalítico? ¿Es el significado compatible con la causalidad? Cuando entendemos el significado de un síntoma, ¿hemos elaborado un relato sobre su origen o hemos descubierto su explicación causal? ¿Puede el psicoanálisis revelar objetivamente el significado subjetivo de la vida de un paciente?
