Cauê’s mother asks for an urgent psychoanalytic evaluation of her baby, revealing her own extremely anxious state. She seemed desperate when trying to describe a certain exasperation that had settled into the relationship,
her life and that of Cauê, who could be disturbed. They both sleep little and Cauê, who used to be a peaceful and sweet
baby, had apparently turned into an extremely demanding and aggressive child. This paper describes the first four months of observation and psychoanalytic comprehension of this couple, deeply tied in bonds of dependence and control, love and hate, little protection and much helplessness. Even if their minds are quite asymmetrical (an adult woman of 58 and a baby of less than a year and a half), the two of them operate reciprocally in projective circles. In those months of treatment, both initial and founding for some kind of attribution of meanings, a series of technical adaptations became necessary, both regarding the observation of babies and the psychoanalytic care.
