The Object-the Other, Thought from the Ideas of D. Winnicott

The paper focuses on the constitution of the object - the subject - and the other thought from the ideas of D.W.Winnicott. This author enphasises the fact of dependence and with it, the essential function of the maternal other. This other that will take time in being conceived as such, and in the meanwhile, she will constitute the essential environment for the potential of growing develope. On passing over ideas about the needs of babies and their objects (I- needs and drives-needs) and there again is the other, the mother in her paradoxical condition of being two objects, from the two types of cares she gives, who makes possible the calm. The possibility of an integrated union of both opens the way thorough to guilt and concern for the other. Next are considered the winnicotteans proposals of objects, born from the meeting and mutuality mother-baby. They will tell us about the fertility in their forms of union and in the steps of their separation.
