El problema de la identidad del yo

Resumen
Mi intento de circunscribirme al problema de la identidad, me llevó, sin embargo, a “tratar de abarcar todo”. No me propongo dejar este problema en estas condiciones: dentro de lo que sea posible, seguiré presentando estudios que tendrán en cuenta la naturaleza dinámica específica de las circunstancias circundantes seleccionadas (historia de la vida, historia del caso, los sueños, las ideologías). Mientras tanto y resumiendo: la identidad, al sobrepasar al término de la infancia, el dominio potencialmente maligno del superyó infantil, permite al individuo desembarazarse de un autorrepudio excesivo y del repudio difuso de los demás. Dicha libertad, proporciona la condición necesaria para que el vigor del yo integre una sexualidad madura, capacidades sazonadas y
realizaciones adultas. Las historias de nuestros pacientes jóvenes ilustran, en qué forma las crisis de identidad agravadas pueden ser causadas por razones genéticas especiales y por condiciones dinámicas especiales. Dichos estudios,
a su vez, arrojan nueva luz sobre los ritos y los rituales más o menos instituidos, y también tienen en cuenta las asociaciones y los movimientos a través de los cuales las sociedades y las subsociedades conceden, a los jóvenes, un mundo entre la infancia y la adultez: moratoria psicosocial durante la cual extremos de experiencia subjetiva, alternativas de elección ideológica, y
potencialidades de logros reales, pueden volverse el tema del juego social o del dominio íntegro.
