Abstract

In this paper, the author tries to describe the analyst’s receptivity of de patient’s communications, in the light of the poskleinian approaches. The author considers that the analyst must tolerate some regression and then differentiate himself from the identification induced by the patient’s projections. In this latter shift an imaginative capacity is needed. Previously, some theoretical issues about inconscious phantasy and imagination, are discussed, as well as some aspects of regression in the psychopathology and in the psychoanalytic setting.
